One of the joys of writing a blog about interior design and home décor is finding and chatting to new readers of the blog, or our Twitter feed. Conversely, a great pleasure is discovering other great blogs to read, from writers who are truly inspiring, whether for redecorating, furnishing, planning rooms, or just sharing fabulous design.  Whether it’s wall-coverings, fabrics, furniture, home accessories, or our favourite fireplaces, it can give me ideas for my own home or ideas to share with others.

Here at Hearth of the Home some of our favourite blogs include these 10 (in no particular order!):

1. Art at Heart (UK)

Excellent varied design inspiration, with a sprinkling of home accessories, and lots of great art as well as fun items.  Several posts a day, well illustrated. Twitter @artatheartUK

2. Decor8

From American freelance journalist and design consultant Holly Becker. Pastel colours, lots of pictures, more well-written text than some décor blogs, and definite inspiration. Daily posts. Twitter @decor8

3. Home Tone

The arty end of interior design from India. Lots of great pictures and inspiration: posts several times a day: avoid the adverts! Twitter @hometone

4. Styleture

Aims to cover notable designs and functional living spaces but is rather more varied than that. Some inspiring pictures and an easily readable blog design. Just a couple of posts a week. Twitter @styleture

5. Freshome

Based in Romania, lots of Ideas (need a capital initial letter for the quality of these ideas!) However, not so keen on the lack of dates on the posts. With fresh ideas, you definitely need to know how recent they are! Twitter @freshome

6. Scarlet Opus Trends Blog

Claims to be “The How & Why of Trend Forecasting & Future Interior Trends” featuring interior design products and surface design. Two postings a week (just like Hearth of the Home!) Twitter @scarletopus

7. myDeco

Part of a bigger portal, with shopping and community: it’s really several blogs rolled into one. But lots of value if looking for inspiration in interior design and décor.  Twitter @mydeco

8. Moregeous

From Sian Astley: personal reflections of a design & property consultant: a genuine touch with occasional inspiration, and an interesting read. Couple of posts a week. Twitter @moregeous

9. This home sweet home

Daily blog from Samantha Stansbridge covering DIY projects, crafts, interior design trends, green issues, recipes, and local products of her home Island of Jersey (UK). Minimal blog design Twitter @sjsinteriors

10. Young House Love

Rather more than just a young couple in Richmond Virginia with their first home, this is a polished and practical blog about remodelling and redecorating. More realistic than arty. Twitter @younghouselove
