Online Interior Design Tools

If you need to find somewhere to start when you’re re-designing a room, your computer may be the best place. Apart from simply finding ideas you can also test out designs and play about with them using various interior design tools on the web.

There are plenty of home design software options out there at the moment. Some are free to download  but others require payment. Here are a few great interior design tools I found on mydeco.com that are all done online and do not need to be downloaded, which is especially handy if you only want to use them once. Best of all they are completely free, so give them a try!

Create an online Moodboard

If you just need somewhere to collate your ideas and try out some colours and designs, than a moodboard may be a good place to start. Mydeco.com has a huge selection of different images to create your own moodboard, and you can also look at the thousands that other people have already created for some design inspiration.

See what your room will look like with a different decor

Mydeco.com also has a tool that lets you see what your room will look like with a different colour scheme with the Decorate My Photo tool. You can simply upload a photo of the room you are re-decorating and you can edit it by putting on a new wallpaper or a new carpet to visualise what it would be like.

Use a 3D Room Planner

If you’re starting from scratch why not design the whole thing and create your ideal room. You can do everything from creating the floor plan or upload your own, picking the room shape, door and window styles, and completely furnishing and decorating your entire room. Even if you don’t plan to actually design a new room it’s still fun to see what you could create!
